Cyberattack on check-in system sparks delays at European airports
A cyberattack on a customer check-in system used by airlines and airports is causing flight delays across Europe.
Several airports, including London's Heathrow, Berlin's Brandenburg Airport, and Brussels Airport, have said that they are affected by the check-in systems outage. The outage means customers cannot use automated kiosks at airports and have to rely on in-person check-in, which is causing delays.
Some are reporting that their boarding passes don't work at the departure gates and have to be manually processed by airline staff.
The cyberattack on the check-in system provider, Collins Aerospace, began on Friday, and will likely result in ongoing delays and disruption until the system returns or gets replaced.
