A sponsored slot on the site is currently $1,500. This sponsored slot appears in the homepage river of news stories, based on a preferred published date-range, and will be marked "Sponsored." You have a headline of up to 10 words and up to 30 words of text copy, including links, for your sponsorship.

A sponsored email newsletter is currently $2,500, which sends out to ~14,000 subscribers on a Sunday of your choosing (on a first-come-first-serve basis). When published, the newsletter also lives on the website in the archive.

A standard sponsorship features in the newsletter's opener, can include links, and typically looks like this:

"This newsletter edition is sponsored by [name]. [10-15 words of custom text]."

Reader privacy

As a privacy minded newsletter, I allow clean web links that do not contain tracking. This is something that my readers have consistently asked for and I am keen to respect. (Linking to a landing page with your own server-side tracking is fine.)

~this week in security~ prides itself on collecting as little analytics data as possible, and does not collect or record email opens or link clicks. This largely bucks the trend in online newsletter publishing, but something that matters a great deal to me and my readers who have long appreciated this.

Editorial independence

For editorial independence, advertisers do not have control over editorial content or visibility into newsletters or blogs before they are published. The news cycle changes rapidly throughout the week and the content is subject to change.
